About south shore sober club

In this video, you'll learn about our mission, our initiatives and ways you can support recovery, in our community.

About Us

Supporting Recovery in Our Community, Tampa FL

Our Vision

SouthShore Sober Club, a non profit 501(c)(3) organization was created to meet the needs of people in recovery in the South Shore of Tampa Bay.  Our community is comprised of people who live or work in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Apollo Beach, Brandon, Ruskin, Riverview, Sun City, Hillsborough and Manatee Counties.  We have experienced tremendous growth from people in recovery in our communities and, with that growth, comes the strain of providing facilities for 12 step meeting groups, and a safe zone for sober people and their families to enjoy a meaningful, fun way of life.

Our recovery community is not affiliated with any specific program (AA, NA, OA, etc.).  We operate as an independent, non-profit entity that relies on the donations, support, and corporate sponsors who can help us maintain the facility and meet our financial obligations.

We are currently seeking  donors and corporate sponsors to help us achieve these goals.  We are also open to volunteers who would like to support our fundraising initiatives and events.

Mission of South Shore Sober Club

What We Strive to Do

When people begin recovery, it can feel like a lonely journey. Our goal is to obtain and manage a facility that serve as a community resource to provide:

  • Meeting Spaces for 12 step recovery groups
  • Fellowship & Fun Events
  • Family Support
  • Game Nights & Social Activities
  • Meditation Areas
  • Gathering Places for Sponsorship

We are not  a rehabilitation center and do not provide medical or healthcare services.

Facility Location

We are actively seeking to buy or build a facility that will be focused on providing a safe place for recovery meetings, social events, and quiet reflection for those in recovery.  Our goal is to obtain partners, investors, and corporate sponsors who can help us be self-supporting and maintain this community and facility, long-term.

Our Community

Many of our volunteers, ambassadors, and the people we serve - are in recovery or have a passion for the work we do.  We support all types of recovery - specifically for people and families affected by substance abuse disorders.

Many of the members of our community provide service work to support people in recovery.  When people reach out for help, and want to live a sober life, our goal is to provide the community and environment that support that beautiful journey.

The Journey of Recovery

Many people leave rehab centers, jails, and other institutions truly ready to begin life, as sober people.  So, imagine that you truly desire to get and stay sober and are challenged with finding people, activities, and social events that will support your new sober lifestyle.  We see this crisis first hand and unfortunately, we also witness the tragedies. We believe that if we can provide a safe and nurturing environment for recovery, we can make a difference in our communities!
